A very special dedication and memorial service was held for Gerald H. Hart, former Executive Director of the Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on October 27th, 2011 at the Tietz Center. In attendance were legislators, organization administrators, board members, residents, colleagues, and staff. Gerald’s family joined us for this moving tribute to their son. As part of Gerald’s legacy at the Tietz Center and for the purpose of perpetuating his support of students with limited opportunities, a Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established in his name for special education students from the Queens Transitional Center, part of the Department of Education. This scholarship fund will give students opportunities to develop a career track and support them in seeking future employment.
