Yoel Sharabi Wows Crowd at Special Margaret Tietz Concert

Star performer Yoel Sharabi is a master of Modern Israeli & Chassidic melodies who has captivated audiences worldwide. He is also a dear friend of Mr. Abraham Antman, a 100 year old short-term rehab patient at Margaret Tietz Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, whose daughter Chana is Mr. Sharabi’s music agent. On  Thursday, August 15th, Margaret Tietz residents, family members and staff packed the facility’s Recreation Room for a special guest performance by Mr. Sharabi. The atmosphere was electric as the singer connected with the audience instantly, and regaled the crowd with renditions from Fiddler on the Roof golden oldies to some beloved Israeli hits. His solo concert lasted over an hour and culminated with the singer bending his head for a heartfelt blessing from the elderly Mr. Antman, followed by spontaneous dancing.

Paying Tribute to our Dedicated Volunteers at our Annual Volunteer Luncheon

Our recent luncheon on April 23rd for Senior and Community Volunteers was a beautiful, heartwarming affair. In attendance were Supervisors from School Programs, Senior Groups, Yeshiva students, Church members, Hospice Agencies, Programs for Disabled Adults, Special Ed. students, Public School students, University students and many other caring individuals who help make the Tietz Center home for so many. Their individual one-to-one visits, and group efforts are greatly appreciated by our residents and patients. The luncheon fittingly took place during National Volunteer week – the week of April 22nd. Local businesses contributed wonderful gifts for a spectacular raffle.

Celebrating Mother’s Day in Style

Mother's Day was celebrated in a very special way at Margaret Tietz with a beautiful music program and corsages donated by Senior Care for all of our wonderful Moms. Carol Lacks, Co-Chairperson of our Family and Friends Circle, gave up much of her Mother's Day to make it special for all the ladies at Margaret Tietz. Upon arrival, all visiting guests received beautifully wrapped carnations, also donated by Senior Care, to present to their loved ones. Carol warmly welcomed everyone and told them about the upcoming "Family & Friends Circle Meeting" to take place at the Tietz Center on May 21st at 6:00 pm. We hope all families participate as i is a great opportunity to meet one another and come up with important ideas to make your loved ones' stay even better. Our heartfelt thanks to Carol for spending her Mother's Day with us and for taking such lovely pictures. We are so fortunate to have Carol and her Mom as part of our Family.
