On June 9, 2015, an appreciation pizza party was held for the volunteers from the Queens Transition Center and Francis Lewis High School Special Ed volunteers. Each student provided hundreds of hours of volunteer service throughout the school year. They assisted in the areas of recreation, dietary, and rehabilitation. Their assistance improves the quality of life of the residents on a daily basis, getting them to their appointments on time and providing the students with valuable life lessons and experience for future job placement.
