Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Sponsors the 10th Annual L’Chaim 5K Run/Walk for Israel QUEENS, NY

Joining the Young Israel of Jamaica Estates, the Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a member of the Beth Abraham Family of Health Services, was a proud sponsor and participant at the10th Annual Queens/Long Island L'Chaim 5K Run/Walk for Israel to benefit medical, security and welfare needs in Israel. This year's event on Sunday May 29th featured a live Concert with Mo Kiss, a Health & Fitness Fair including free screenings, a Vendor Fair and a free Ice Cream Festival sponsored by Max and Mina's. The balmy spring weather generated a fabulous turnout of all ages. Hand in Hand: The Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center & Tomchei Shabbos of Queens

Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Tomchei Shabbos of QueensRepresentatives of Tomchei Shabbos of Queens (TSQ) recognize the generous $10,000 donation made by The Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a member of the Beth Abraham Family of Health Services, to support their organization. For more than thirty years, TSQ has provided food packages on a weekly basis to needy families and individuals throughout Queens, New York. Services have expanded into parts of Long Island which are underserved. Presently, approximately 400 packages are delivered weekly by dedicated volunteers encompassing the spectrum of ages, professions and backgrounds. The shared goal is the care of our extended family – those among us in need. The Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is proud to support this vital community resource. Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Eruvwith Queens Borough President Helen Marshall and Community Rabbis Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a member of the Beth Abraham Family of Health Services, has completed the extension of Eruv joining 6 neighborhoods of: Hillcrest, Kew Garden Hills, Jamaica Estates, Briarwood, Holliswood, and the Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, allowing families to spend Shabbos together with their loved ones.

Joining the Queens Jewish Community Council, Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, along with its parent organization, the Beth Abraham Family of Health Services: Passover Food Distribution

Joining the Queens Jewish Community Council, the Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, along with its parent organization, the Beth Abraham Family of Health Services are sponsoring this major food distribution for Passover for those in the community who are in need .We say at the Sedar on the first two nights of Passover “All those who are hungry come and eat”. The Queens Jewish Community Council is acting in the spirit of the statement, a few days early, on April 10, 2011 by distributing at its food pantry packages of Kosher for Passover food to those in need. The amount of food distributed for Passover is greater than any other month of the year. There are two reasons for the increase, one Passover food is more expensive than non Passover food. Also, since Passover is such an important holiday where food is an essential component, people who may be embarrassed about coming for food the rest of the year will come for the Passover provisions.
